# Privacy Policy

**Weekie - Family Activity Planner**

Weekie ("we," "our," or "the app") is a family activity planning application developed by Roderick ten Wolde. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Weekie app.

## 1. Information We Collect

### 1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect the information provided through your chosen sign-in method:

- **Sign in with Apple:** Your Apple ID user identifier, and optionally your name and email address (you may choose to hide your email using Apple's private relay service).

- **Sign in with Google:** Your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile picture URL.

### 1.2 Family Information

You may voluntarily enter information about your family, including:

- Family name

- Family member names

- Family member roles (e.g., child, parent)

- Birthdates

- Favorite colors and emoji preferences

### 1.3 Activity and Schedule Data

The app stores information about your family's activities, including:

- Activity titles, types, times, and locations

- Meal plans and meal details

- Activity completion status and feedback (emoji-based ratings)

- Stars earned and rewards progress

### 1.4 App Preferences

We store your preferences locally, including:

- Language selection

- Time format and week start day

- Notification settings

- Sound preferences

- Parent passcode (stored locally on your device only)

### 1.5 Notification Data

If you enable notifications, the app requests permission to send local notifications for activity reminders. A device token may be generated for this purpose, which remains on your device.

### 1.6 Google Calendar Data (Premium Feature)

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, the app requests read-only access to your calendar events. This data is used solely to display your calendar events within the app and is not stored on any external server.

## 2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

- Provide and operate the app's core features (activity scheduling, meal planning, rewards tracking)

- Sync your data across your devices via iCloud

- Send local notification reminders for upcoming activities

- Display your Google Calendar events within the app (if connected)

- Manage your premium subscription status

We do **not** use your information for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking.

## 3. Data Storage and Security

### 3.1 Local Storage

All your family data (activities, meals, rewards, settings) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

### 3.2 iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, your app data is synced via Apple's CloudKit service. This means your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted and managed according to [Apple's iCloud security practices](https://support.apple.com/en-us/102651). We do not have access to your iCloud data.

### 3.3 iCloud Drive Backup

You may optionally create backups of your data to your personal iCloud Drive. These backup files are stored in your iCloud Drive account and are accessible only to you.

### 3.4 Credential Storage

- Authentication tokens for Google Calendar are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.

- Your Apple ID credentials are managed by Apple's authentication framework and are never directly accessible to the app.

- Account identifiers and basic profile information are stored locally on your device.

### 3.5 No External Servers

Weekie does **not** operate its own servers. We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on any server controlled by us. All data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud account.

## 4. Third-Party Services

### 4.1 Apple Services

- **Sign in with Apple:** Used for account authentication. Subject to [Apple's Privacy Policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

- **iCloud / CloudKit:** Used for data synchronization. Subject to [Apple's iCloud Terms](https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/icloud/).

- **StoreKit:** Used for processing premium subscription purchases. All payment information is handled by Apple and is never accessible to us.

### 4.2 Google Services

- **Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0):** Used as an alternative authentication method. When you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile information. Subject to [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).

- **Google Calendar API (read-only):** If you connect your Google Calendar, the app reads your calendar events to display them. We request only read-only access and do not modify your calendar. This access can be revoked at any time from your [Google Account settings](https://myaccount.google.com/permissions).

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

## 5. Children's Privacy

Weekie is a family app designed to be used by parents and children together. We take children's privacy seriously:

- The app is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian.

- Children's names, activity data, and reward progress are stored only on the device and in the parent's iCloud account.

- We do not collect personal information directly from children.

- We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

- No data about children is transmitted to external servers.

- Parents can delete all family member data at any time from within the app's Settings.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without parental consent, please contact us at support@weekiekids.com so we can address it.

## 6. Data Retention and Deletion

- **Your data, your control:** All data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account. You can delete individual items, family members, or all data at any time using the app's Settings.

- **Account deletion:** You can delete your account from within the app. This removes your stored credentials and profile information from the device.

- **Clear All Data:** The app provides a "Clear All Data" option in Settings that permanently deletes all activities, meals, rewards, and family data from the device and iCloud.

- **Uninstalling the app** removes all locally stored data. iCloud data can be managed through your device's iCloud settings.

## 7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

- **Access** the personal data stored in the app (visible directly within the app)

- **Correct** any inaccurate data (editable within the app)

- **Delete** your data at any time (via Settings > Clear All Data or by deleting individual items)

- **Revoke** Google Calendar access at any time from your Google Account

- **Opt out** of notifications at any time from the app or your device settings

## 8. In-App Purchases

Weekie offers an optional premium subscription (monthly or yearly) that unlocks additional features such as meal planning, calendar sync, parent dashboard, and feedback analytics. Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information.

## 9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
